Fifty-two years ago 315 families joined together to build the first St. Pius X Catholic Church. Twenty years later, the parish had outgrown the church and together embarked on our second Capital Campaign to build our current worship space and retrofit the old church into what is now Maneth Hall. Sixteen years later, in 1993, we embarked on our last Capital Campaign to build the William C. Martin Family Center.
Today, after 30 years of use, our parish family has outgrown the facilities in Maneth Hall and we are in need of a larger multi-purpose facility to meet the needs of our growing family and growing ministries.
As your parish priest, it is with great pride that I bring forth the St. Pius X Capital Campaign to you. I ask for your financial support in building this new facility as an offering of love, support and encouragement to our fellow parishioners, the ministries supported by the St. Pius X community and our school. It is my goal and that of the Capital Campaign Committee to build this facility without incurring additional debt.
We first looked at restoring and rebuilding Maneth Hall, but structural analysis showed it would not be cost-effective. Our new facility will be built where our humble beginnings began and Maneth Hall currently stands. A covered walkway will lead from the facility to the school, enabling the new facility to cater to the needs of our parish and school alike.
Careful study of parish needs, with a focus on functionality, cost effectiveness, and enjoyment brought us to designing the facility found in this brochure.
I have already made my personal three year Capital Campaign pledge and my annual stewardship pledge to meet the monthly responsibilities of the church. Won’t you join me in pledging your gift today?
If each St. Pius X family pledged the equivalent of one hour of pay a week for the three year pledge time we would have the funds needed to build our new multi-use facility. Some parishioners may feel the need to donate more money, while others may be making a great sacrifice giving a smaller gift. But I know that together we can raise the money needed.
Our Capital Campaign gives us a unique opportunity to increase our service to the community and leave our church with the facilities needed to better serve our current families and the many families to come. To what else can you donate one hour of pay a week that will make such a lasting difference?
