Campaign Progress

Have you noticed our recent progress?

You may have seen the surveyor's stakes in the ground! We have now started our survey and topographical study. Our meetings with different user group teams from the Parish are ongoing. They are helping us to refine our concept for how the facilities will be designed to best meet our different needs and purposes. This is particularly important to our Parish because of the many roles that our building will fill once it is complete.

We have also submitted our paperwork to the Review Board of the Archdiocese and we will meet with them later this month. Please include receiving their approval in your prayers! This is the biggest hurdle for us from the perspective of the Archdiocese.

We recently met briefly with our Councilman, John Clamp, to update him on our building plans. He asked for a follow-up meeting as he wanted more time to fully grasp and understand our concept and to share his plans for upgrading Harry Wurzbach road. His ideas include additional sidewalks and new lighting which will mesh with our plans perfectly. Councilman Clamp has offered to do whatever he can to assist us in securing our building permits from City Hall. He also mentioned that TXDOT has agreed to allow the city to place flags and/or signage at the intersection of Harry Wurzbach and Loop 410 to attract attention to the entrance road to Ft. Sam. This will bring added visibility to our church and school as the approximately 10,000 new families move to San Antonio as part of the BRAC process.
